What's in Your Puppy Supply Bag?

The Southeastern Guide Dogs Puppy Raiser Manual states on page 79 that, 'The primary goal of a Puppy Raiser is to love and raise a puppy to be well-mannered, confident and socialized.'

While socializing the puppy the raiser needs to be prepared for any type of mishap. It is the Puppy Raiser's responsibility to leave any place they are visiting with their puppy as clean as when they first arrived.

It is important to always carry clean-up supplies with you. A belt pack or backpack is an easy way to have your hands free to handle the leash while still carrying needed supplies.

Pictured below are two types of carry bags and samples of some items that may be useful.
Wet wipes, paper towels, busy bags, antiseptic hand gel & band-aids. SEGD literature is handy to give out to an interested person. A packable bowl and if you are going to be out for awhile or it is warm outside...a bottle of water for you and your pup can be a lifesaver. Don't forget a camera to take some pictures of your guide dog puppy in training. These photos will make a nice addition to a scrapbook that you may want to give to the person matched with your pup on Puppy Raiser Day.
